We use an extremely rugged road bike – designed for round-the-world tours – with up to four waterproof pannier bags. Each bag will take a parcel up to 40 x 25 x 15 cm (16 x 10 x 6 in) in size and a maximum weight of 10kg.

For loads that do not fit our pannier bags we have a choice of trailers.

We mainly use a trailer with a lockable, waterproof German-made aluminium box, fixed to its tough plywood load bed. The box has an inside measurement of 79 x 59 x 60 cm (31 x 23 x 23.5 in).

For larger loads we have a rugged trailer imported direct from the USA with a cargo bed measuring either 162 x 69 cm or 244 x 49 cm. It is very flexible, as it can carry a wide variety of loads including ladders, lengths of guttering, timber etc.
